Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

h

Nothing goes better together than raspberry and dark chocolate. I've always wanted to make a cheesecake from scratch with a springform pan. For my husband's and I 11th year anniversary, we were just staying in and I thought I should make a special dessert. So this was it. It's a New York style cheesecake with raspberry and semi sweet chocolate spooned on top, when baked sporaticaly sunk into the top. After the cheesecake cooled I made a chocolate ganache to spread over the top. Then served with a dollop of whipped cream. This is a very rich dessert, but very decadent also. It was the perfect anniversary surprise.

Flowers & Fairies

I had a job to make a fairy cake, the customer bought the fairy and I made the cake. It's a chocolate cake with white buttercream frosting in between the layers. I decorated with vines and flowers, the flowers I made out of royal icing and I also made the butterfly out of royal icing and curved it, so it looks like it's wings are ready to take flight.

Pink & Brown Polka Dot Wedding Cake

Here is another wedding cake. It turned out so cute and looks so bright and bubbly! I was able to help a friend put this together for her daughter's wedding. We had so much fun working together.

Would "Ace of Cakes" hire me???

My sister LOVES purses and shoes. Her husband wanted to suprise her with a cake. So I tried to be "Ace of Cakes" and came up with this purse cake. I put her monogram on the sides of the purse and her age as part of the flowers in the corner. It is a 3 layer cake. I made the white cake from scratch (it tasted like a sugar cookie) and with a raspberry cream cheese filling. She ended up having quite the crowd over for presents and cake so I made cupcakes for the kiddos too. Just white cake with a chocolate butter cream frosting (just butter cream for the pink ones) and sugar sprinkles. The cake was a hit and my sis was very surprised!

What do you do with leftover pumpkins from Halloween??

Make Pumpkin Pie of course!!!
'Tis the season for pumpkin pie! I had my halloween pumpkins just sitting on the porch, so I decided to make homemade-all-the-way pumpkin pie. I pitted and cleaned out my pumpkin and roasted it in the oven, scooped out all the pumpkin flesh and pureed it up and then made my pie. After making the pie crust of course. I topped it with whipped cream (no! not cool whip!) seasoned with a dash of pumpkin pie spice, vanilla, & brown sugar. YUM!

Camo Cake

So I need a professional photographer for my cakes. They could look a whole lot more appetizing..or could they? Camoflauge cake?! I would never look at a camo cake and think "Mmmmm, that looks so good!" Would you? That's how I felt while making these colors and decorating this camo cake. But you know what??? It was really good on the inside! I made the chocolate cake from scratch and made a vanilla pudding (made with cream) filling between the layers. It was moist and delicious!
